Kirsten (Strausbaugh) Becker C'13 was promoted to the women's gymnastics head coaching position in May 2020 after serving five years as the program's assistant coach. During her time as an assistant coach, Becker helped lead the Quakers to the 2020 Ivy Classic title and their highest team score in program history in 2019. Penn recorded a score of 194.850, its second-best score in the program's history, to win the Ivy Classic title in 2020. As the program's beam and floor exercise coach, Becker led the Quakers to their best beam score (49.125) in school history at the event. In 2019, the Red and Blue compiled its best National Qualifying Score (NQS) ever as its score of 195.075 at Maryland was the best in program history, breaking a 15-year old record.
Casey Rohrbaugh was hired as an assistant coach with the Penn gymnastics program in December 2020. Rohrbaugh came to Penn from AJS Pancott Gymnastics, Inc. in nearby West Chester, Pa. She was a head team coach there, developing college-bound Level 9 and 10 athletes in all events. Rohrbaugh attended Penn State University, where she was a four-year letter winner on the Nittany Lions’ gymnastics team. She was a two-time Ann Carr Award recipient for the most inspirational performance during a competition.
Cassie Hageman enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Quakers in 2022. She joined the staff in November of 2021. Prior to joining the Quakers, Hageman served as an assistant coach at Temple for two seasons. During the 2019-20 academic year, she was a graduate assistant for the Owls. In her role, Hageman assisted the coaching staff in daily administrative tasks, recruiting and overseeing all four gymnastics events. She also helped guide the team to their second consecutive ECAC championship, despite the season being cut short due to COVID-19.
In her second season with Temple, Hageman was responsible for coaching the balance beam. Temple's beam team jumped 23 spots during the 2021 season, recording the highest NQS (49.144) in program history. Under her tutelage, two gymnasts earned All-EAGL honors and seven student-athletes garnered All-ECAC distinction.
